Argentina

Few people realize that Argentina is one of the world's leaders in per capita consumption of wine and the fifth leading producer of wine.  Argentina grows a wide variety of grapes in different regions.

Malbec, a red wine, is Argentina's most successful variety. This grape has conquered its place, yielding complex red wines at once both drinkable at release, and capable of aging well for several years. 

Among the white varietals, the Torrontes exhibit a unique style, along with Chardonnay, which grows best under hot conditions.  Don't be surprised to see an increase in the amount of Argentine wines available in the near future.
